The Sunset District has outgrown its auspicious “Outside Lands” roots to become a vast, densely populated residential neighborhood, and it’s 85,000 residents help make it the city’s largest district. Separated from the Richmond District to the north by Golden Gate Park, the Sunset shares it’s neighbor’s cultural diversity and down-home charm. The 9th and Irving Street business area is a popular stretch of eateries, coffee shops, bars, and stores, and a jumping off point to popular attractions like the De Young Museum, the California Academy of Sciences, the Japanese Tea Garden, and the Conservatory of Flowers. The Sunset District has grown into one of the city’s more popular neighborhoods.
